Expert Overflow
Privacy
Expert Overflow is the business name of Heney Lindley Holdings LLC. We collect only what we need to fix and host your site, and we don’t sell it. Here’s what that means in practice.
What we collect from the form
- Your website address
- Your name and email address
- Your phone number, if you choose to give it
- Who hosts your site
- Your confirmation that you own or manage the site
To keep out spam and abuse, the form uses Cloudflare Turnstile, and our servers see the technical details any website sees, such as your IP address and browser.
Our passive check
After you sign up, we look at what your website publicly shows to any visitor, such as the server software and PHP version it advertises in its responses. It’s a passive check. We don’t attack, scan for weaknesses or try to log in.
How we use it
- To contact you about your site and book a time
- To fix, harden and, if you choose, host your site
- To send quotes, invoices and receipts
We don’t sell your information, and we don’t share it for advertising.
Who helps us
We use a small number of providers to run the service:
- Amazon Web Services hosts our systems and sends some of our email.
- Cloudflare delivers this website and runs the Turnstile spam check.
- Google Workspace handles our email.
- Stripe processes payments and stores your card.
- Anthropic provides the AI we use to help draft emails. A person on our team is responsible for what we send.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while we’re working with you and for as long as we need them for our records, billing and legal obligations. If you sign up and we don’t end up working together, we delete your sign-up details after 24 months, or sooner if you ask. Copies of the emails you send us are kept in our systems for 30 days.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email us and we’ll take care of it.
